New Vision-Saving drug challenges standard treatment for blinding eye disease
NCT ID NCT07440225
Summary
This study is testing whether a new eye injection called tiespectus works as well as the current standard treatment (aflibercept) for wet age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss in older adults. Researchers will enroll 960 people who haven't received treatment for this condition before and compare how much vision improves over one year. The goal is to see if this new option can help control the disease and preserve eyesight.
