Study compares survival rates for two esophageal cancer surgeries

NCT ID NCT07182266

Summary

This study looked back at the medical records of over 1,600 patients with esophageal cancer to compare two different surgical techniques. Researchers wanted to see if a newer, less invasive method (IVMTE) led to fewer complications after surgery and better long-term survival compared to a more common procedure (VME). The goal was to help doctors understand which surgical approach might offer better outcomes for patients.
