Breakthrough test could end invasive surgery for endometriosis diagnosis

NCT ID NCT05523284

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive ultrasound technique called SPG to diagnose superficial endometriosis, the most common but hardest-to-detect form. Researchers will inject and then withdraw a small amount of fluid during the ultrasound to look for signs of the disease, comparing the results to the current gold standard of surgery. The goal is to develop a faster, less invasive way to diagnose this painful condition that affects many women.
