Could a new scan finally see the invisible pain of endometriosis?

NCT ID NCT05480995

Summary

This study is testing a new type of PET/MRI scan to see if it can better detect endometriosis, a painful condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus. Researchers will enroll 24 women who have symptoms and are scheduled for surgery to see how accurately the new scan finds the disease compared to the surgical results. The goal is to improve diagnosis, which can be difficult and delayed with current methods.
