New hope for tough esophageal cancer: drug combo targets gene mutations

Summary

This study tests whether a new combination of drugs (anlotinib hydrochloride plus benmelstobart) works better than the current standard treatment (toripalimab plus chemotherapy) for people with advanced esophageal cancer that has certain gene mutations. The trial will include 578 adults who have not had prior treatment for advanced disease. The main goals are to see if the new combo helps people live longer without their cancer growing and to check for side effects.
