Double dialysis: a new hope for Fluid-Burdened kidney patients?
NCT ID NCT04603014
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing if adding a short, second type of dialysis between a patient's regular sessions can better control dangerous fluid and salt buildup. Ten patients on standard hemodialysis will have a temporary tube placed to receive this extra fluid-removing treatment twice a week for three weeks. Researchers will use special leg scans to measure salt removal and monitor patients for safety and symptom changes.
