Summary

This study is testing whether a new oral medicine called azetukalner can help reduce symptoms in adults with moderate-to-severe major depression. About 450 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real medicine or a placebo pill for 6 weeks, and neither they nor their doctors will know which one they get. The main goal is to see if azetukalner safely reduces depression symptoms better than the placebo.
