Mayo clinic tests High-Tech scanner to spot hidden heart trouble
NCT ID NCT05240807
Summary
This study is testing whether a new type of CT scanner, called a Photon Counting Detector CT, can give doctors clearer and more useful pictures of the heart's arteries. Researchers will compare images from this new scanner to standard heart scans in 450 patients with suspected coronary artery disease. The goal is to see if the improved images help doctors make better decisions about patient care, especially for those with complex conditions like heavy calcium buildup or stents.
