New hope for rectal cancer patients: combo therapy aims to save organs and improve survival

Summary
This study tests a new treatment for people with locally advanced rectal cancer that has not spread. The treatment combines short-course radiation with chemotherapy and two immunotherapy drugs (iparomlimab and tuvonralimab). The goal is to shrink the tumor enough to avoid surgery and preserve the rectum. About 116 adults aged 18 to 75 will take part.
