New 'Smart Bomb' chemo targets cancer cells, spares healthy tissue
NCT ID NCT04969835
Summary
This is a first-in-human study testing a new cancer drug called AVA6000 in patients with advanced solid tumors that have spread or cannot be removed by surgery. The drug is a modified version of a common chemotherapy (doxorubicin) designed to be activated only inside tumors, potentially reducing side effects. The study will first find the safest dose and then expand to see if the drug shows early signs of helping control cancers like breast, ovarian, salivary gland, bladder, and soft tissue sarcoma.
