Chest shell vs. face mask: new hope to keep ICU patients off ventilators
NCT ID NCT07067502
Summary
This study is testing if a new type of breathing support, which uses a gentle chest shell, works as well as the standard mask method for ICU patients at high risk of needing the breathing tube put back in. It will involve 50 patients who are ready to come off the main ventilator but still need help. Researchers will compare how often patients in each group need to go back on the breathing machine.
