New brain scan aims to sharpen picture of Alzheimer's disease

NCT ID NCT07306598

Summary

This study is testing a new type of brain scan designed to better see and measure a harmful protein called tau, which builds up in diseases like Alzheimer's. Researchers will give a small, safe amount of a radioactive tracer to about 20 participants, including healthy people and those with dementia, and then perform PET scans. The main goals are to check if the new tracer is safe and to see how well it works for detecting tau in different areas of the brain.
