Could a simple light sensor replace the blood pressure cuff?

NCT ID NCT05393401

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive device that uses light sensors on the skin to measure how fast a pulse wave travels through your arteries (pulse wave velocity). Researchers want to see if this measurement can be used to accurately estimate blood pressure. The goal is to develop a more comfortable and continuous way to monitor these important health indicators compared to traditional inflatable cuffs. The study is enrolling 27 healthy adult volunteers to test the device's feasibility and reliability.
