Smart insulin system detects missed meals

NCT ID NCT05799781

Summary

This study tested a new automated insulin delivery system (artificial pancreas) that can detect when someone with type 1 diabetes eats a meal but forgets to tell their insulin pump. The system then automatically gives the needed insulin. Researchers compared this new system against a currently available commercial system during two separate 7-day periods at home. The goal was to see if the new approach improves blood sugar control, especially for people at higher risk.
