New drug aims to make heart surgery safer

NCT ID NCT05881291

Summary

This study tested a new anesthetic drug called ciprofol during a minimally invasive heart valve replacement procedure. Researchers compared it to the standard drug propofol in 124 older patients to see if ciprofol causes fewer drops in blood pressure and other side effects. The goal was to find a safer option for keeping patients comfortably asleep during this delicate surgery.
