Tiny study aims to unlock mysteries of brain fog after cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07375628

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will follow 10 patients getting CAR-T therapy to learn why some develop severe brain inflammation (ICANS). Researchers will use brain scans and cognitive tests before, during, and after treatment. The goal is to better understand the link between brain inflammation and thinking problems, not to test a new drug.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors understand why some patients develop brain inflammation and thinking problems after CAR-T therapy.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early observational study with only 10 participants, so findings may not apply to everyone. It does not test a new treatment.
