Brain training tested to rekindle joy in depression

NCT ID NCT05869708

Summary

This study tested a personalized brain-training therapy called Prism neurofeedback to see if it could safely help reduce symptoms of depression, especially the loss of pleasure known as anhedonia. Nineteen adults with depression were randomly assigned to receive either the real brain-training sessions or a sham (placebo) version. The goal was to see if the training could improve mood and pleasure when used alongside standard depression care.
