First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study checked if leftover COVID-19 virus in the nose is linked to ongoing brain fog and memory problems. Researchers compared 51 adults who had COVID-19 months earlier—some with brain fog, some without. They looked for virus in the nasal cavity and matched it to thinking difficulties. The goal is to understand why some people have long-lasting cognitive symptoms.
