Sound waves vs. nerve disease: a new way to spot GBS and CIDP?

NCT ID NCT06615622

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 28, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study explores whether ultrasound can detect nerve changes in people with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) earlier than standard tests. Researchers will compare ultrasound images with nerve conduction studies in 90 adults. The goal is to see if ultrasound helps diagnose these conditions sooner and track how nerves change over time.
