NCT ID NCT06977035
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will use nerve conduction tests to check for nerve damage in 60 adults with rheumatoid arthritis. Half are taking baricitinib (Olumiant), a JAK inhibitor, and the other half are on standard disease-modifying drugs. The goal is to see if baricitinib is linked to a higher risk of peripheral neuropathy.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- baricitinib
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could clarify whether baricitinib is linked to nerve damage in rheumatoid arthritis patients, helping guide safer treatment choices.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early observational study with only 60 participants. It cannot prove cause and effect, and results may not apply to all patients.
