Zapping nerves to tame a troubled gut: new hope for stubborn bowel disease?
NCT ID NCT05895981
Summary
This study is testing a gentle nerve stimulation treatment for adults with ulcerative colitis whose symptoms haven't improved enough with standard medications. It aims to see if stimulating nerves near the tailbone is safe and can reduce gut inflammation and symptoms over a year. The research will also look at how this treatment might change the body's immune signals and gut bacteria.
