New nerve block combo could slash opioid use after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT05980546

Summary

This study tested whether adding two specific nerve blocks to standard pain management could help patients after total knee replacement. Researchers compared 244 patients who received the extra nerve blocks to those who did not. The main goals were to see if this approach reduced pain and lowered the need for opioid painkillers in the first day and week after surgery.
