Which nerve block spreads better? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07153263
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study compares two types of nerve blocks used before CT-guided lung nodule localization. Researchers will use 3D CT scans to see how far the numbing medicine spreads with each method. Fifty adults aged 18-80 will take part. The goal is to understand which block works better, not to test a new drug or treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors choose the better nerve block method for lung procedures, potentially improving pain relief and reducing complications.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early imaging study (50 participants) that only measures anesthetic spread, not actual pain outcomes. Results may not directly translate to better patient care.
