Could a simple nerve block ease debilitating stroke pain?

NCT ID NCT06446960

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether numbing a nerve in the arm or leg can reduce the hard-to-treat pain some people feel after a stroke. Researchers will give 36 adults either a lidocaine, levobupivacaine, or saltwater injection twice, two weeks apart. The goal is to see if the active drugs lower pain more than placebo, offering a new way to manage this chronic condition.
