New nerve block could slash pain after kidney stone surgery

NCT ID NCT06826833

Summary

This study tested if a specific nerve block given before a common kidney stone surgery could improve pain relief afterward. 70 patients were randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block or standard pain care. Researchers measured pain levels, opioid medication use, and side effects like nausea for 24 hours after surgery to see which approach worked better.
