New nerve block could ease hip surgery pain

Summary
This study is testing whether a specific nerve block can better control pain after hip replacement surgery. Researchers will compare the standard painkiller ropivacaine against a placebo (saltwater) injection in 80 patients. The main goal is to see if this nerve block reduces pain scores and opioid painkiller use in the first two days after surgery.
