New nerve block could cut painkiller need after breast surgery

NCT ID NCT03954249

Summary

This study tested if adding a specific back nerve block to standard pain control methods could reduce the need for opioid painkillers after breast reduction surgery. Researchers compared patients who received the nerve block with those who did not, measuring pain levels and opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery. The goal was to find a safer and more effective way to manage pain for patients going home the same day.
