Scientists track pain drugs in blood to improve shoulder surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07324499

Summary

This study aims to understand how two common pain medications, bupivacaine and dexamethasone, are absorbed into the bloodstream when given together during a nerve block for shoulder surgery. Researchers will compare blood levels when one drug is mixed directly with the nerve block versus given through an IV. The goal is to gather knowledge about how these drugs work together, which could help improve pain control methods in the future.
