Hope for kids with rare lung scarring: new drug trial launches

Summary
This study tests nerandomilast, a medicine already approved for adults with lung scarring, in children aged 2 to 17 with fibrosing interstitial lung disease. About 35 children will take the drug or a placebo for 6 months, then all receive the drug for at least 2 years. Researchers will check how the body handles the medicine, monitor side effects, and measure lung function and growth. The goal is to control the disease, not cure it.
