New combo therapy aims to improve survival in recurrent head and neck cancer

Summary
This study tests whether adding chemotherapy or a chemo-immunotherapy combination before salvage surgery can improve outcomes for people with head and neck cancer that has returned or persisted. About 180 participants with PD-L1 positive tumors will receive either standard surgery alone or surgery plus the extra treatments. The goal is to see if the added therapy helps keep cancer from coming back.
