Could Pre-Surgery radiation spare brain tissue in metastatic patients?

NCT ID NCT03163368

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests whether giving focused radiation (radiosurgery) to a brain tumor before surgical removal helps protect healthy brain tissue and may eliminate the need for radiation after surgery. About 25 adults with brain metastases (tumors that spread from other cancers) will receive different radiation doses to find the safest and most effective one. The study focuses on side effects and tumor control, not a cure.
