New hope for hard-to-treat head and neck cancer: drug combo before surgery shows promise

NCT ID NCT07589049

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving two drugs (becotatug vedotin and pucotenlimab) before surgery can shrink tumors in people with recurrent head and neck cancer that has stopped responding to standard treatments. About 42 adults with EGFR-positive cancer will receive 3 cycles of the drug combo, then surgery, followed by more therapy. The main goal is to see how many patients have a major reduction in tumor cells after the drugs.
