Can a wound vacuum save diabetic feet from amputation?

Summary

This study compares a wound vacuum (negative pressure therapy) to standard wound care for people with diabetic foot ulcers after surgery. The main goal is to see if the vacuum reduces the need for leg amputations within one year. About 50 adults with diabetic foot ulcers that need surgery will take part and be followed for a year.
