Hands-On neck pain therapies put to the test
NCT ID NCT07605013
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two manual therapy techniques—Positional Release Technique and Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization—for treating nonspecific neck pain. 51 adults with desk jobs will be randomly assigned to one of the two techniques plus home exercises, or home exercises alone. The goal is to see which approach best improves neck muscle endurance, reduces pain, and boosts daily function over 4 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Positional Release Technique and Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that adding a specific hands-on technique to home exercises provides better neck pain relief and function than exercise alone.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 51 participants. Results may not apply to everyone with neck pain, and the techniques may not prove superior to exercise alone.
