NCT ID NCT06241612
First seen Jun 26, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether giving radiation only to specific neck areas based on where cancer has spread can reduce side effects and improve quality of life for people with nasopharyngeal cancer. About 470 newly diagnosed patients will receive either standard or personalized neck radiation. The goal is to maintain cancer control while lowering radiation-related harm.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- radiation therapy
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a more precise radiation approach that reduces side effects and improves quality of life for nasopharyngeal cancer patients.
- What could go wrong
- This is a Phase 3 trial, but the approach is still experimental. It may not reduce side effects as hoped, or could slightly increase the risk of cancer returning.
