Breathing treatment tested for deadly lung pressure disease

NCT ID NCT07214129

Summary

This study tested whether a common heart medication, nitroglycerin, could be safely given as a mist to breathe in to relax tightened blood vessels in the lungs of people with pulmonary arterial hypertension. It involved 20 adult patients with this serious condition. The goal was to see if this new way of delivering the drug could help lower high blood pressure in the lungs during a standard diagnostic test.
