Summary
This study tested two ways of helping patients with a tracheotomy (a tube in the throat) breathe on their own after being on a ventilator. The goal was to see if a method called NAVA works better than the standard PSV method. 130 adults with ARDS took part. The researchers measured how many days patients were free from the ventilator within 28 days, how often weaning succeeded, and survival rates.
