Nature prescription: can a simple outdoor program improve life for dementia patients and their caregivers?

NCT ID NCT06451978

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests a nature-based program led by caregivers for people with mild cognitive impairment or dementia living at home. About 48 pairs (a person with memory issues and their caregiver) will be randomly assigned to either start the program right away or wait. The program includes 8 weekly nature activities guided by a manual, with online training for caregivers. Researchers will measure changes in wellbeing, depression, and anxiety to see if this approach helps and whether a larger study is worthwhile.
