New nasal spray offers Needle-Free pain relief for kids in ER

NCT ID NCT06364072

Summary

This study tested a nasal spray containing two pain-relieving drugs (sufentanil and ketamine) for children aged 1 to 17 who came to the emergency room with moderate or severe pain from an injury. The main goals were to see if the spray was safe, well-tolerated, and effective at reducing pain quickly. Researchers also wanted to know if children and their parents found the nasal spray an acceptable alternative to injections or pills.
