Scientists test if nasal insulin can reach the brain

NCT ID NCT06434038

Summary

This study aimed to measure whether insulin, when given as a nasal spray, can reach the brain and spinal cord fluid. Researchers planned to give healthy middle-aged adults either a low or high dose of insulin nasal spray or a placebo, then collect spinal fluid samples to measure insulin levels. The goal was to gather basic information about how well this delivery method works, but the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
