Summary

This study tested whether an extended-release form of nalbuphine, a pain medication, can reduce chronic coughing in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). 165 participants received either different doses of the drug or a placebo for 6 weeks. The main goal was to see if the drug lowered cough frequency measured by a digital monitor, and to check for side effects.
