Scientists test Brain-Boosting pill to fight Alzheimer's in down syndrome

NCT ID NCT07278492

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a daily supplement called MIB-626, which boosts a natural body chemical called NAD+, is safe for adults with Down syndrome. The goal is to see if raising NAD+ levels can help prevent or slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease, which is very common in this population. Over 28 days, 24 participants will take either the supplement or a placebo pill, and researchers will monitor their safety and measure NAD+ levels in their blood and brain.
