Could a common supplement ease 'Chemo Brain' for ovarian cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT04520139

Summary

This study is testing whether adding the supplement N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) to standard platinum-based chemotherapy can help reduce memory and thinking problems, often called 'chemo brain,' in women with ovarian cancer. The first part of the study will find the safest dose of NAC, and the second part will explore if that dose helps patients' cognitive function. It will involve about 102 women with advanced ovarian cancer who are scheduled for at least six cycles of chemotherapy.
