Could this trial help patients avoid harsh transplant side effects?
NCT ID NCT04991103
Summary
This study is testing whether patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma or amyloidosis can safely delay or avoid stem cell transplant. Researchers will use a sensitive blood test to measure how well patients respond to initial drug therapy. If patients show a very deep response to the drugs, they may be able to postpone the transplant and its associated side effects.
