Can learning an instrument shield kids from stress?

NCT ID NCT07165925

Summary

This study is testing whether a fun, game-like music training program can help children from low-income families cope better with stress. 174 children aged 8 to 12 who are at risk for anxiety or depression will be randomly assigned to either take weekly music lessons or participate in other group activities for six months. Researchers will then track the children's resilience, mood, and self-esteem over a full year to see if the music training makes a lasting positive difference.
