Hospital tunes: can personalized music stop patient confusion?

NCT ID NCT07137949

Summary

This small pilot study is creating and testing a new type of music therapy to help prevent delirium—a state of sudden confusion—in hospitalized patients with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, or similar brain diseases. Up to 30 participants will receive up to five personalized music sessions, which could include live music, playing instruments, or listening to recordings. The main goal is to see if this therapy is practical to use in a hospital and to gather initial feedback on whether it might help future patients.
