Soothing sounds after surgery: music may ease C-Section recovery
NCT ID NCT07289516
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether playing music to women after a cesarean delivery can help reduce pain, increase comfort, and improve bonding with their newborn. Sixty-two women who had a C-section were randomly assigned to either listen to a specific type of music (Acemaşiran mode) twice in the first 16 hours after birth, or to receive standard care. Researchers measured pain, comfort, and mother-infant bonding using standard scales to see if music made a difference.

Active substance
Music listening (Acemaşiran mode)
What this could lead to
If it works, listening to music after a C-section could become a simple, drug-free way to help new mothers feel less pain, more comfortable, and bond better with their baby.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center study with only 62 participants. Results may not apply to all women, and the effect might be modest or due to chance.
