First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study explores whether a special ultrasound technique (ARFI) can measure muscle stiffness to help screen for sarcopenia, a condition of muscle loss common in aging and cancer. Researchers will compare three groups: healthy young adults, healthy older adults, and older cancer patients undergoing treatment. The goal is to see if this non-invasive test provides useful information beyond standard scans.
