Scientists probe why obesity alters muscle fibers
NCT ID NCT04700800
Summary
This study aimed to understand why people with obesity have different types of muscle fibers compared to lean individuals. Researchers compared 48 participants with and without obesity, using exercise and amino acid infusions to see how muscle proteins are made. The goal was to uncover the biological reasons behind these muscle changes, which are linked to poorer health outcomes in obesity.
