NCT ID NCT02062086
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new technique to measure muscle mass in older adults using a special form of creatine (deuterated creatine). Participants took a single capsule, and researchers measured how much creatine was absorbed by muscles. The goal was to see if this method is more accurate and easier than current tools like X-ray scans. The study included both healthy older adults and those recovering from hip fracture surgery.
